Guy was a contributor to International Scouting Services as a profile writer for their various draft and scouting packages. In that capacity he interviewed several first round draft picks prior to their selections. His interview with Anze Kopitar back in October of 2004 for ISS was the player’s first ever by a North American publication and was subsequently picked up and carried by The Hockey News in their October 26th, 2004 issue.
Flaming has co-hosted the TSN 1260 ’s live Draft Day show since June of 2004 alongside Dean Millard, Bob Stauffer, Robin Brownlee, Corey Graham, Will Frazier and others.
In 2006 Flaming also added Colour Analyst to his résumé when he was part of the crew delivering the webcast at the Viking Cup junior tournament held in Camrose, Alberta. At the same time, he was hired by the University of Alberta Golden Bears to be the colour commentator for the hockey team and followed them as they captured their second straight CIS National title. 2006-07 was Flaming's third year covering the Bears.
The WHL's Edmonton Oil Kings can be heard on the TSN 1260 and Flaming has appeared during broadcasts as a guest analyst and also as a fill-in colour commentator every season since the team returned to the WHL including their run to the 2014 Memorial Cup Championship in London, ON.
